Doris(莫瑞英)已經離世七年多了。

(It’s too painful, I don’t want to talk about it.)

(Look for life’s mission and purpose)
(Live as lifetime ministers and mentors)
(Leave behind living markers and messages)

The Mourning after......

It’s been more than seven years since Doris’ loss. Last year many dear friends suffered the same loss of loved ones.

One of them was Albert, the best man at my wedding, who suffered the loss of his wife Grace near the end of the year. Another was my mentor Herman Tang, who lost his wife Eleanor at the beginning of the year.

When Herman visited me in Hong Kong after the recent Chinese New Year, I asked him, “How are you doing sifu?” He replied, “It’s too painful, I don’t want to talk about it.”

I could not do much for my mentor but I suddenly remembered I gave a thoughtful talk about my loss, so I sent it to him.(preachchrist.livejournal.com) Herman replied, “Victor, thank you for sharing. This is the best article on personal mourning I have read. Thank you for sharing so honestly from your heart.”

I have often think about the purpose of life these few years and here are my thoughts:
1. Look for life’s meaning and mission.
2. Live as lifetime ministers and mentors.
3. Leave behind living markers and messages.
